GladGrade Analytics

Structured public information, built to be checked.

GladGrade Analytics builds analytics and public-information tools that make it easier to find, read and compare information that is already public. We collect responses through consistent questions, organise them, and publish them in a form the public can review directly.

What comes next

Additional GladGrade Analytics initiatives are in development. They will appear in this section when they are open to the public — nothing is listed here before it is.

How GladGrade Analytics works

The same method applies across projects, whatever the subject. It is deliberately unremarkable — the value is in applying it consistently.

  1. Consistent questions

Every participant in a project answers the same questions, in the same order, with the same wording. Nothing is tailored to an individual respondent.

  2. Structured collection

Responses are collected through a structured form rather than gathered from interviews or press coverage, so answers stay attributable and comparable.

  3. Organised data

Responses are stored in a consistent schema, which is what makes them searchable, groupable and readable side by side.

  4. Public presentation

Submitted responses are published as they were given. We do not summarise, paraphrase or select excerpts on a respondent’s behalf.

  5. Durable records, where applicable

Some projects archive submissions so a published response can be checked against the record later. Campaigns on Chains does this; not every project needs it, and not every project uses the same technique.

  6. Access tools

Search, filtering and profile views exist so a reader can reach the specific response they came for instead of reading everything.

Principles

These are operating constraints on how we build, not a statement of values. Each one is something a reader can hold us to.

  • Transparency

What a project collects, and how it presents it, is stated plainly on the project itself.

  • Consistency

Everyone in a project is asked the same thing. Differences between responses come from the responses, not from the questions.

  • Neutral presentation

Responses are displayed without scoring, ranking or recommendation. We do not identify preferred answers.

  • Data integrity

A published response reflects what was submitted. Where a project keeps a durable archive, that archive is what a published response is checked against.

  • Accessibility

Keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, readable contrast and responsive layouts are build requirements, not later additions.

  • Accountability

Participation and non-participation are both visible. An unanswered question is shown as unanswered rather than hidden.

  • Public understanding

The measure of a project is whether a member of the public can find what they were looking for and read it for themselves.
